Congratulations to 2020 NAWBO Columbus Member of the Year, Carmen G. West, West Advantage HR Solutions.
Carmen has been a member of NAWBO Columbus since 2018 and immediately became involved in the organization by joining the Governance Committee. She assisted with the development of an annual performance review process for our executive director and consults on the design and implementation of personnel policies and procedures. Carmen was instrumental as an HR advisor as we sought to hire a Development Director and shared her knowledge and experience with the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee by helping craft our 2020-22 Strategic Plan. She is the model of what it means to be an active NAWBO member.
Carmen is a Senior Global Human Capital & Change Transformation Professional. Leading and consulting with over 20 years of progressive human resources experience expanding diverse functions within human capital management, change management & cultural transformation, project management, and building high-performing teams. A servant leader who thrives on helping people of all backgrounds, business, and professional levels be the best they can be — to choose to be GREAT!
The owner and executive director of West Advantage HR Solutions, LLC; newly created to embody a servant leadership focus around People, Processes, & Technology, and providing leadership & coaching to support and partner within organizations and individuals so they accomplish greatness as the “Future of Work” is changing and transformation is underway.
In her career she has worked for various fortune 200-500 companies leading and executing large scale HR transformational initiatives and projects as well as infrastructure & process design, execution, and system integrations. With extensive vendor management and contract negotiation expertise; she identifies areas of saving opportunities and efficiencies. Regarded as a knowledgeable business leader partnering with senior leaders and a respected leader who has the courage to raise the tough questions. And, works in partnership with organizations leadership to talk about what needs to be talked about to achieve breakthrough performance results. She is a former Officer of Diversity & Inclusion for various companies; provides leadership coaching, career development & transition, OPEX speaker on culture, engagement, and change management. A proud graduate of Bowling Green State University; receiving her bachelor’s in business administration. In addition, serves on various community committees and corporate affiliations memberships.
Carmen is the wife of an IT Professional, Gregory C. West who is a former Naval Aviator and Lieutenant. Recently relocated to Arizona from OH. Enjoys traveling to experience different cultures, giving back-paying it forward.
Member of the Year is awarded to a member who has gone above and beyond the call of duty for NAWBO Columbus during the past year. She is someone who has given her time, talent, and/or treasure to strengthen the organization. She has worked to influence the growth and development of our organization while guiding individual members in their personal and professional growth and development. She has modeled effective leadership and commitment to the Chapter over time.
